Andrecca v0.19 Patch Notes
October 27, 2026
Version 0.19 of the Haunted web demo fixes the error that could stop the game at the end of a level on phones and tablets, puts a Pause button on every screen, and stops a spider from letting a zombie get away.
Phones and Tablets
- Fixed: the game stopping at the end of a level. Moving with the joystick as a level ended could stop the game with "An error occurred running the Unity content."
- New: a Pause button when you play sideways. It sits at the bottom between your lives and your score, and Move Controls can move or resize it.
- Tapping the board no longer pauses the game. Use the Pause button, held either way.
- A thumb that lands just above the joystick or Flip, on the board, still works the joystick or Flip.
- Turning the phone while Move Controls is open no longer copies one way's layout onto the other.
- Controls you moved no longer cover the game when the browser's bars make the screen shorter.
Gameplay
- Fixed a zombie carried off by a spider sometimes falling back onto the board and walking again.
- Fixed a level that was already won being lost to a death at the same moment.
- Fixed a player who died twice at once standing back up without a proper respawn.
- Fixed the Win jingle cutting out when a level was won during the candy stage.
- In co-op, winning a level with no lives left starts the next level with zero lives, not a negative count.
- Fixed a co-op level ending twice when the last players went down together.
Restart
- Restart now resets the board completely: no bomb left burning, no hearts carried over from the last try, and every tile back to its full size.
Menus
- Level Select matches high scores by whole names, so "AL" no longer shows ALEX's score.
- Names the game uses for its own saves are refused with "Invalid name!".
Andrecca v0.18 Patch Notes
October 13, 2026
Version 0.18 of the Haunted web demo brings How to Play to phones while you play, and makes Character Select's join message easier to read.
Phones and Tablets
- New: How to Play while you play. Held upright, a How to Play key under Pause opens the tips. In a level, it pauses the game first.
- Move Controls can move, resize or hide the How to Play key.
- On short phones, Pause no longer overlaps the joystick, and the game is never cut short to make room for the controls.
Character Select
- "Make a character to join!" is in a lighter shade of each player's color, so it's easier to read, and it's bigger on large screens.
Andrecca v0.17 Patch Notes
October 13, 2026
Version 0.17 of the Haunted web demo is framerate independent and lets a player alone at the keyboard use the arrow keys and number pad. It also tidies up Character Select, the pause menu and Results.
Gameplay
- Framerate independent. Walking, pushes, boosts and flip chains no longer slow down on devices that can't keep up 60 frames a second.
- Flip now always skips the Win jingle, even if you were falling or riding a boost when the level was won.
- Haunted 10's roller coaster ride now catches the zombie a slow start could leave behind.
Controls
- Playing alone on a keyboard, the arrow keys and number pad now work for you as well as WASD and Space.
- The number pad works with Num Lock off too.
- Player 1's 1 key is now + and the 2 key is −, so 1 starts and pauses.
Character Select
- Each empty panel shows which player it's for, "Player 2" and so on, where the name goes.
- "Create More Characters!" now reads "Make a character to join!"
- Each panel's text is in its player's color: blue, pink, green and yellow, like the arrows.
- Names up to 8 letters long stay full size.
- On a phone, once you've joined, the other panels show a controller's A to join.
- Join always starts on a controller's A, then shows Space and Num 0.
Pause and Results
- With a controller or keyboard, the pause menu stacks Options, Restart and Quit in one column.
- After a loss, Try Again now sits in the bottom-right corner of Results.
Display
- On a computer, the title screen shows its whole picture instead of a zoomed-in part.
- Menus and text stay crisp at odd window sizes. At some sizes the big banner letters, the high score bar and the save icon are drawn a little larger to stay sharp.
- Keyboard keys in menus now sit centered on the words beside them.
- The Level Select highlight now covers the whole tile.
Phones and Tablets
- The smallest phones held upright, like the first iPhone SE, now show the grid from edge to edge.
- Held sideways, the version number no longer sits under Flip while you play.
- The candy stage's music starts right away instead of after a silence.
- Held sideways, the HUD no longer wiggles in the candy stage as the hearts are counted.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed hair sometimes showing as scattered bits when making a character or pressing Randomize.
- Fixed a lit bomb sometimes losing its burning fuse when another bomb appeared, though it still went off on time.
Andrecca v0.16 Patch Notes
October 10, 2026
Version 0.16 of the Haunted web demo plays on phones and tablets by touch, fills every screen with no black bars, and uses less than half the memory. It also adds wood that bursts out of Haunted spawners and new Results buttons.
Phones and Tablets
- New: Play by touch. Phones and tablets now get a Tap to play screen instead of a message saying the game needs a computer. On Android, the tap also takes the game full screen.
- Hold your phone sideways or upright. Upright, the whole level grid fits across the screen.
- Tap the title to start, tap a Character Select panel to join and lock in, and tap a level in Level Select. Buttons become keys you can tap.
- In a level, move with the on-screen stick and press Flip. The stick and Flip only appear in levels, so they never cover a menu.
- Held sideways, the stick appears wherever your thumb lands.
- Held sideways, a tap anywhere near Flip presses it, so you don't have to hit the button exactly.
- Tap the game grid to pause, and tap outside the pause menu to resume. Held upright, a Pause button also sits under the controls.
- Options has a new Touch panel:
- Controls: a joystick or a d-pad.
- Sensitivity: Low, Medium or High, for how far your thumb moves before the stick steers.
- Move Controls: drag the stick, Flip and Pause wherever you like, and drag a corner to resize them. Reset puts them back. Your layout is saved separately for sideways and upright.
- Naming a character uses your phone's own keyboard, and the game's keyboard steps aside while it's open.
- The game switches to touch the moment you tap, and back again as soon as you use a keyboard or controller. Up to three more players can still join with controllers.
Display
- No more black bars. Past the edges of a level, the world's own tiles (wood in the Haunted world) carry on to the edges of the screen, fading into shadow beside the level. This covers phones and ultrawide monitors too.
- The menus' tile background now fills the whole screen as well.
- When you change worlds in Level Select, the tiles beyond the level flip along with the border.
- Full screen now uses your whole screen.
- The game now picks the biggest pixel-perfect size that keeps the whole level grid on screen, so many screens show it bigger and sharper. A 1920x1200 monitor now shows the game at 5x instead of 4x, for example.
- Small phones held upright show the grid from edge to edge.
- When there's no room beside the level grid, the screen only shakes up and down, so the grid never leaves the screen.
Controls
- Turning is more forgiving. A direction pressed a moment before you reach a square (up to about 0.15 seconds early) is taken when you get there. This works on keyboards, controllers and touch.
- The pause menu now has an Options button on every device, so you can change the volume without leaving the level. On a phone, it's also where you move the controls.
- If only one character has been created, joining Character Select now locks you in right away and starts the countdown, since there's no other character to choose.
Title and Results
- The title's logo and Start button now wait until the loading bar is gone, so you see them arrive instead of missing it.
- On Results, Level Select is now the Back button: B on a controller, Z on the keyboard.
- New: Try Again. After a loss, Results has a Try Again button (A or +) that restarts the level you just lost. By touch, Try Again and Level Select are keys side by side.
Spawners and Falling
- New: when a zombie or pumpkin bursts out of a Haunted spawner, pieces of its wooden trapdoor fly out, bounce and fade, a little differently each time.
- If you're standing on a spawner when it bursts, you're now pushed off right as the door breaks, about a sixth of a second sooner, instead of near the end of the animation.
- Falling into a hole looks smoother.
Music and Performance
- The game now uses less than half the memory it did, so phones and tablets with little memory, like kids' Fire tablets, are much less likely to crash or lag.
- Music takes about half the memory it did. Only the music you're about to hear is kept ready, yet every world's music still starts the moment you switch worlds.
- The loading bar now waits until the title music is ready, so the title starts with its music.
- On phones and tablets, music plays in mono to save memory.
- On phones and tablets with less memory, a world's music loads when you reach it, so there may be a short gap after its opening seconds.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue on slower devices where Level Select's level numbers could stay on screen after a level started, or stay hidden after coming back.
- Fixed an issue where one press of Esc counted twice when two players shared a keyboard, pausing and unpausing at once and pressing menu buttons twice. Esc now works once, for either player.
- Fixed an issue where pressing Esc on a keyboard no one had used yet could bring in a second keyboard player.
Privacy
- The game now sends anonymous notes about play, such as which levels are won or lost and how long loading takes, to help us make it better.
- Nothing in them says who you are. There are no cookies, no names and nothing you type, and our analytics service doesn't keep your IP address.
- The new Privacy page, in the menu at the top of the site, lists exactly what's sent.
Andrecca v0.15 Patch Notes
October 6, 2026
Version 0.15 of the Haunted web demo adds a brand-new color picker for your character, a countdown on Character Select and a Glitch row that really glitches, and it fixes music, zombie and character-saving bugs.
Level Select
- The Glitch row on Level Select now has its own border and effects!
- The Glitch row (row 5) now glitches: when your cursor lands on it, the whole row tears for a moment.
- The Glitch row's border now has red lights, and it tears and drops out while it's on screen.
- The level cursor glows orange on the Glitch row and white everywhere else.
Character Select
- Once every player who has joined is locked in, Start counts down 3-2-1 and moves on to Level Select by itself.
- Press A or + to skip the countdown. B, or a new player joining, stops it. If the only player still choosing leaves, the countdown starts for everyone else.
- Coming back from Level Select, Start waits for a press instead of counting down again.
- The Start button now flashes green when it's ready, and each number of the countdown ticks.
Character Customization
- The Color row is now a grid of colors, so you can see them all at once instead of stepping through them one at a time.
- Each part has its own set of colors. Skin shows skin tones, while clothes get a wider range.
- Moving over a color previews it on your character. Press A, or click, to lock it in. Leaving without pressing A puts your old color back.
- A red ring marks your locked-in color and a yellow ring marks the cursor. When they're on the same color, the ring turns orange.
- New: Custom colors. The last square in the grid opens a picker with Hue, Brightness and Colorfulness bars. It works with a controller, keyboard or mouse, and previews as you go.
- A keeps your custom color and B backs out.
- Up and Down wrap around the bars, and holding them keeps going.
- Custom colors are saved with your character.
- While the picker is open, the other buttons are greyed out.
Controls and Prompts
- Keyboard prompts are now smaller and closer in size to controller buttons, and their letters use the game's own font, sharp at every screen size. Number pad keys are marked NUM.
- Spacebar prompts now show a key that says SPACE.
- When you name a character on a keyboard, Save shows an ENTER key and Cancel shows an ESC key. Press Enter (or the number pad's Enter) to save, or Esc to cancel. You can also click either key.
- Esc does nothing while naming your very first character, since there's nothing to cancel back to.
- When you make your first character, the OK button now says Save, and on a keyboard it uses Enter, so pressing Space to pick a color no longer saves by accident.
- Known issue: in full screen, the first press of Esc leaves full screen. Press it again to cancel.
Display
- The web version now draws at your screen's real pixels, so it's much sharper on high-resolution screens and laptops with display scaling.
- The game now stays pixel-perfect at more screen sizes. A few in-between sizes crop slightly at the edges instead of blurring, and the hearts and score move in so they're never cut off.
- At 1280x720 and 2560x1440, levels now show the whole top of the wall, with a little less floor at the bottom instead.
Performance
- Changing a character's colors is now instant. Each change used to cause a brief hitch, including when a level loaded each player.
- The game uses noticeably less memory in the browser, which should make the web version more stable.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that caused the music to stop for the rest of a level after skipping the victory jingle.
- Fixed an issue that caused two zombies pushed into each other to keep pushing each other all the way into a wall.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a zombie caught in a flip wave to stop riding it partway and survive.
- Fixed an issue where backing out of Create New and then trying again could replace your current character's look with random colors and save it.
Andrecca v0.14 Patch Notes
October 2, 2026
Version 0.14 brings the Haunted Demo back to the web after five years, rebuilt in Unity 6. Every level now has two ways to win, movement and pushing are smoother, and the demo has a proper ending.
Back on the Web
- Rebuilt in Unity 6, with a loading bar and a full-screen button.
- Your progress and characters now survive closing the tab.
- Wide screens get black bars at the sides instead of stray art.
- The Leaderboard is hidden while its server is offline.
The Demo
- The demo ends after Haunted Level 12, and the other worlds' rows are locked.
- "Thank you for playing the demo!" now appears only after the last level, instead of on every Results screen.
- Pumpkins show up earlier and in more levels, and Level 9 has been polished.
Gameplay
- Two ways to win every level: defeat every enemy and spawner, or lock every tile.
- Movement and pushing are smoother.
- Defeated characters break apart in new ways, from a small crack to an explosion, facing the way they were pushed.
- Boosting players tear straight through spider webs. Boosts chain, and each one follows its arrow.
- Pumpkins find their way better, hop over blocks and bounce off webs like trampolines.
- A falling spider web sets off a bomb beneath it.
- When several players flip the same tile together, that many tiles flip.
- Heart tiles give 5 hearts, counted up one at a time. The flip bonus now pays out for beating a level in fewer flips than par, and the copper, silver and gold ratings have been recalibrated.
- In the candy stage, chocolate bunnies leave tracks and give hearts when defeated. When the stage ends, players return to the bonus tile.
- Fixed many cases where an enemy froze or a level never ended.
Menus and Controls
- Menu screens flip over with the background tiles instead of sliding, and Level Select's border turns over when you change worlds.
- With no second keyboard player, the arrow keys also move player 1.
- Pressing Flip on the win screen skips ahead to the next level.
- Fixed issues where the second keyboard player controlled the wrong character and Results froze after a loss.
Updates, October 2 to 5
- October 2: full screen shows the biggest 16:9 game that fits, with black bars, and Windows display scaling no longer enlarges it. Players pushed off a web are freed, and an enemy falling down a hole no longer holds a level open.
- October 4: Level 10 is the original 2021 roller coaster again. The game runs at 60 fps on every screen. Saving a new character no longer freezes, controllers get an on-screen keyboard for names, and the hearts and player heads at the top are sharp. Web edges slow you down again, and each candy in a sugar rush adds speed, up to 3x.
- October 5: a block landing on you pushes you out instead of defeating you. A teammate out of lives comes back when a life is won, and a split zombie's spawner makes a new zombie only after both halves are gone. Chocolate bunnies no longer defeat you on touch. Level Select's border and music follow the cursor, + and A both move forward on Level Select and Results, the mouse pointer hides, and the fifth row can be picked again as the Glitch row.
Andrecca v0.13 Patch Notes
September 13, 2021
Version 0.13 brings the Haunted Demo back to the web after almost six years, now in WebGL so no plugin is needed. The demo is Haunted Levels 1 to 12, with a new candy bonus stage, new art and new controller support.
Back on the Web
- Plays in WebGL, so the Unity Web Player plugin is no longer needed.
- The game fills the browser window and scales up in sharp, whole-pixel steps.
The Demo
- The demo is now Haunted Levels 1 to 12, ending with a thank-you message after Level 12. The 2015 demo's Levels 13 to 24 are now Advanced levels, which aren't in this demo.
- New: the candy bonus stage. Most levels hide a bonus tile that takes you to a candy stage, with candy bombs and boosts, chocolate bunnies and its own music. The stage ends when its music does.
- Level 9's roller coaster has been reworked, and Levels 10 and 11 have swapped places.
- After a win you go straight on to the next level. Results appears after a loss or the last level.

Look and Feel
- New art for the borders, tiles, Haunted background and title screen, and new tile-flipping animations.
- Game messages' letters now flip in time with their tiles.
- The characters have been redrawn with a new color system, and Dot's hair bow is now colorful.
- New spider-web frames, a gentler camera shake and a saving icon.
Gameplay
- A boost snaps you to the center of its tile, and boosted players don't fall down holes.
- Pushed enemies bump into other enemies, and split zombies bounce farther.
- Zombies no longer pause for a few seconds after the player they were chasing is defeated.
- When a spider web falls, the tile behind it turns right away.
- Stuck enemies no longer hurt you.
Controls
- New controller support. Button prompts show keyboard keys or controller buttons to match whoever is playing.
- Players join with A, and any player can move around Level Select. Esc pauses.
- The Volume screen works with a controller. The key-rebinding Controls screen has been removed from Options.
Switched Off for the Demo
- Online play, the Leaderboard, the Contest board and Server Messages are off.

Levels
- Level 7 has more bombs.
Menus
- The Add Friend screen has a clearer layout and wording for first-time players.

Andrecca v0.03 Patch Notes
October 9, 2015
Test build 0.03 reorders the levels so each new tile and enemy gets its own introduction, and adds a score multiplier.
Levels
- Level 3 now introduces Spider Webs, and Level 4 gives more practice with them.
- Level 7 introduces Boost tiles, and a new Level 8 practices Boosts and Bombs.
- The old Level 8 is now Level 11 and introduces Jack-O-Lanterns. Several later levels have moved to fit the new order.
Scoring
- New: a multiplier for defeating enemies or collecting hearts in a row.
Characters
- Character Setup saves your changes automatically, instead of asking.
- New hairstyles to choose from.
- Long names shrink to fit on Character Select and the Leaderboard.
- If you respawn after a win, you come back cheering.
Tiles
- Temporary tiles last 5 seconds instead of 10.
- Boost and Flip Direction tiles keep the direction the level gives them, even when another tile flips them.
- An enemy that sets off a Bomb blows up with it and takes out other enemies nearby. Enemies a Bomb smashes into a wall are defeated outright instead of splitting.

- Fixed an issue where pushed characters moved faster than intended.
- Fixed issues where you couldn't go back from the Leaderboard to Level Select, or from Level Select to Character Select.

Andrecca Alpha Build 3 Patch Notes
March 6, 2015
Alpha Build 3 is here, for Windows and Mac! It adds Level Select, a scoring system with star ratings, and leaderboards, to make the demo feel more like a complete game.
Level Select
- New: Level Select. Replay any level you've unlocked, among the Haunted levels and Advanced levels. Each world has its own music and border, and worlds other than Haunted are locked.
- Your personal high score shows for each level, and after a win the cursor moves to the next level.
Results and Scoring
- New: scoring. Your score counts speed, enemies defeated, hearts collected and lives left, with a three-star rating.
- New: the Results screen. It tallies your score, shows a new personal record, and lets you replay or quit. Press A to skip the tally.
- Defeating an enemy with a spider is worth 2,000 points.
Accounts and Leaderboards
- New: leaderboards for every level, split by number of players, with Local, Friends and Global boards.
- Accounts are made for you automatically, and Becca and Andrew are added as everyone's friends.
- Character names go through a filter.
Enemies
- Spiders can grab enemies, and enemies get stuck in webs too.
Tiles
- Temporary tiles, like Heart tiles, last at most 10 seconds, so they can't be used for endless points.
Controls
- L + R + A + Start restarts the level when playing offline.
- The pause menu shows its button options and can quit the game.
Switched Off
- Online play and renaming characters are off in this build.

- Zombies now split from Level 4 on, and Zombie Bottoms speed up after Level 6.
- Enemies are no longer harmful the moment they spawn.
Tiles
- New: the Bomb tile.
- Locks show correctly, and Bombs react properly to them.

- Characters from Build 1 keep their progress, but you need a new character to play the revamped early levels.

Andrecca Alpha Build 1 Patch Notes
October 31, 2014
Happy Halloween! Alpha Build 1, the Haunted Demo, is our first public build of Andrecca. Andrecca is being made for the Wii U, and this PC build lets you try it before it comes out.
The Haunted Demo
- The only game type is the Haunted Demo: 24 Classic Mode levels in a haunted house, played one after another.
- Clear the board of every enemy and spawner without losing all of your lives.
- Up to four players can play locally. Online play is still being built and isn't available yet.
- Survival, Team Tackle and Random are switched off until they're ready.
Characters
- Two character types, Luto and Muto.
- Create, rename and delete characters, with colors to customize. Progress saves automatically for each character.
Enemies
- Zombies split into a top half and a bottom half when first defeated, from Level 6 on. They try to surround you instead of walking straight at you.
- Spider webs: walking on a web's edge slows you down, and its center traps you until you wiggle free.
Tiles
- Heart tiles give 5 hearts and fade after 10 seconds.
- Boost tiles shoot you in one of four directions, and a boosted player defeats enemies in the way.
- Flip and Flip All tiles, locks and rocks. Getting squished between two blocks defeats you.
Presentation
- A title screen, Haunted music and a losing theme, sound effects, and messages spelled out in tiles.
- A pause menu during play.
Controls
- Keyboard and controllers, with keys you can rebind. Player 1 starts on WASD and Q, and player 2 on the arrow keys and number pad 0.
- Esc quits a game in progress.
